La Sportiva Expands Its Premium Apparel Line with Summer Alpine Tech Collection

BOULDER, Colo. (Jun 13, 2024) – La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain gear, today announced its Spring 2025 apparel collection. This season, the Italian brand is continuing to expand its Alpine Tech line, a collection of premium apparel pieces designed to excel in Alpine environments. La Sportiva has had success with the winter capsule, and, due to requests from its athlete team, is releasing a summer collection to round out the line.

“At La Sportiva, we aren’t afraid to make products that are specifically designed for elite climbers and alpinists,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “The one constant in our line is change. From cutting-edge climbing shoes that help climbers send complex problems, to unique jackets that allow alpinists to tackle highly technical routes, we are always looking at new ways that our products can help athletes push boundaries. Alpine Tech is a perfect example of this commitment to innovation, and represents the future of our apparel line.”

The Helixir Shell Jacket and Pants are standouts of the summer Alpine Tech collection. The Helixir products are engineered for vertical pursuits and are made with an innovative material called Spectra, a cut-resistant yarn made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), which provides an industry-leading strength-to-weight ratio that is 15 times stronger than steel. The waterproof jacket has a 3-layer PFC-Free waterproof membrane, a helmet-compatible hood, and an articulated construction in the shoulders and knees. The Helixer Jacket has an MSRP of $265, while the Helixer Pants are listed at $129.

Comfort meets performance with the new Big Wall Pullover Hoodie, a 9.1 oz top that uses innovative materials to provide warmth without adding the bulk of a traditional fleece. This versatile piece is made with Tech Stretch Aero, a unique polyester fiber that uses eight projections arranged radially around a hollow core. Tech Stretch Aero’s unique fiber construction enhances the jacket’s insulating properties and is 50% lighter than conventional polyester materials. The Big Wall Hoodie is available for men and women and is priced at $145.

The Aequilibrium Lite Insulation Jacket is a new piece that provides insulation in core areas and breathable panels on the back and under the arms to keep users comfortable during summer mountaineering excursions. The Primaloft Polartec PowerGrid insulation provides breathable warmth in wet and dry conditions, while the Pertex Quantum shell helps to trap air and enhance the insulating properties of the jacket. The 10.8 oz piece uses La Sportiva’s Vapovent Light material on the back panel, which is made with a tri-dimensional brushed mesh to retain warmth while releasing moisture. This lightweight insulated piece retails for $189.

The new collection will be available at select specialty retailers and at www.lasportivausa.com in the fall of 2024. Select samples for media will be available prior to the release of the line. Contact La Sportiva PR representative Sean Van Horn at sean.vanhorn@backbone.media for more information.
