With respect to your Usage Information, we and/or our service providers, agents or advisors use any or all Usage Information for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, planning Site development, assessing patterns of use, and/or to include you in e-mail or mailing lists, either ours or those of certain business partners, as more fully discussed below, so that we may send you information or updates and/or offer you services. With respect to your Personal Information, we may use it to fulfill any requests for information that you make of us, provide you with access to “members only” portions of the Site, or to better understand your needs and to learn how to improve our Site offerings. We may also use your Personal Information to contact you. For example, we may respond to your e-mail inquiries, request more information from you regarding your e-mail inquiries, or send you a request to join our mailing list. Except as described in Section III below, we will not sell or rent your Personal Information to any third party not affiliated with OIA without your express consent.

Notwithstanding the prior two sentences, if the laws in your state provide you with additional protections, or require us to comply with more stringent obligations to provide you with, remove, or correct your personally identifiable information, we will comply with such legal requirements. Under the laws of some jurisdictions, you may be entitled to request disclosure regarding how we share your Usage Information with third parties for direct marketing purposes (“Information-Sharing Disclosure“). We use commercially reasonable precautions and technical measures intended to protect the privacy of the information you share with us against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration. We may also utilize industry standard security measures available through your browser, such as Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to transfer information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Accordingly, your email transmissions and/or other communications containing Personal Information may be unlawfully intercepted or accessed by third parties and/or our Site may be subject to hostile network attacks or administrative errors. Even after your information is received by us, we can not guarantee that your Personal Information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed as a result of a breach of our commercially reasonable efforts or as a result of any other event beyond our reasonable control. OIA Membership Cancellation and Refund Policy
Membership cancellations received within 30 days of becoming an Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) member may be eligible to receive a full refund less a $25 service fee. Cancellations will be accepted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline.
Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
All refund requests must be made by the organization’s primary contact or credit card holder. Refund requests must include the name of the company and the name of the member.
The above policies apply to all OIA memberships unless otherwise noted in membership materials. Please read all individual materials thoroughly for any specific policies.
OIA Event Cancellation and Refund Policy
Event Cancellation by OIA
OIA reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event nonviable.
If OIA cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. OIA is not responsible for individual expenses related to the event (i.e. hotel, flight, car rental, etc.).
Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, OIA has the right to either issue a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.
Event Registration Cancellation by Participant
The deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 30 business days before the event. From the time of paid registration through the 31st business day before the event, attendees may elect to cancel their registration and receive a full refund less a $25 service fee.
All refund requests must be made by the company or attendee, and will be email at email@example.com. Refund requests must be received by the stated cancellation deadline and must include the name of the company and attendee. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
These above policies apply to all OIA events unless otherwise noted in event materials. Please read all individual event materials thoroughly for any specific policies, as most events list a specific cancellation date.
OIA Goods and Product Refund/Return Policy
All returns of goods and materials purchased directly from OIA require prior authorization. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable; returns must be authorized by OIA within 30 days of the invoice date. Within thirty days of purchase, we will replace, substitute or repair, at our sole discretion, any product that is deemed defective.
