[Santa Barbara, CA] November 9, 2023 – AutoCamp Hospitality Group, the company behind premier outdoor lodging brands AutoCamp and Field Station, opens reservations at its second Field Station location in Joshua Tree. Field Station Joshua Tree is the perfect basecamp for exploring the other-worldly landscapes of the high desert. Designed as the ultimate experience for the everyday adventurer, including affordable accommodations to facilitate exploration, Field Station Joshua Tree offers several room types, an onsite pool, turnkey outdoor equipment retail, educational programming, DIY or guided experiences, and an espresso cafe. The property is home to 69 rooms ranging from premium king to double queen with bunk rooms, as well as accessible options, with ample space for gear storage. Four Van Life posts are available and include access to WiFi, hookups, onsite pool, communal bathrooms, showers and other amenities.

Starting today, the brand is offering a non-refundable promotional $99 per night for reservations completed within the first three months of opening, available for double queen and king rooms. To book Field Station Joshua Tree reservations starting in Spring 2024, please visit FieldStation.com/Joshua-Tree.

Field Station Joshua Tree marks the first time that both of AutoCamp Hospitality Group’s portfolio of brands will be located in the same area, bringing more ways for people to experience Joshua Tree National Park. This plays directly into AutoCamp Hospitality Group’s mission to empower all people to get outside, knowing that not everyone has the necessary gear at home or seasoned knowledge of exploring new terrain. Complementing AutoCamp Joshua Tree, Field Station Joshua Tree brings affordable accommodations, educational resources, expert guides and gear together to provide greater comfort, ease, knowledge and support to all people looking to explore the area.

“As the outdoor hospitality industry continues to surge, this marks another major milestone for each of our brands entering both new and existing markets,” said Neil Dipaola, CEO and Founder of AutoCamp Hospitality Group. “This signifies a major achievement as our brands venture into fresh and familiar territories. Our enduring mission is to enhance outdoor accessibility, and while AutoCamp and Field Station cater to two distinct demographics, they unite in their commitment to inspiring travelers to embrace the great outdoors and local region.”

The AutoCamp Hospitality Group portfolio of brands set the standard for the “adventure curious” by providing lodging near natural areas with the comforts of home. As outdoor travel has seen massive growth in recent years, AutoCamp Hospitality Group is creating opportunities to serve individuals and families who enjoy the outdoors in different ways. In a recent survey of AutoCamp and Field Station guests, when asked how “outdoorsy” they’d consider themselves, 54% identified as not at all or somewhat outdoorsy. Of those 54% surveyed, they said their purchasing decision was based on accommodation proximity to natural areas, while 41% said they chose the brand as an option to retreat into nature. With its two unique lodging brands, AutoCamp Hospitality Group is well-positioned for growth in new and existing markets to engage even more people in the outdoors.

About Field Station
Field Station, a division of AutoCamp Hospitality Group, empowers all people to get outside with greater comfort, ease, knowledge and support. Field Station lovingly renovates and upcycles old lodges and motels in prime outdoor destinations to create supportive and sustainable basecamps for exploring nearby natural areas. Norrøna, a Legendary Norwegian Brand Opens Its New Immersive and Inspiring Headquarters in Lysaker

Oslo, Norway (Nov. 8, 2023) – Norrøna, the family-owned Norwegian adventure travel company and manufacturer of high-end outdoor apparel and outerwear, today unveiled a revolutionary global headquarters. The iconic brand welcomes a diverse international guestlist to the grand opening of the space, which sprawls  8,200-square-feet and includes Norrøna’s largest and most immersive store to date, a flexible modern event space, and the company’s newest venture into the restaurant industry, with the new Nordic-concept, Naturen Brasserie.

“We said that we can create the most impressive, coolest retail concept in the world if we were given the right framework conditions. And now we have,” Jørgen Jørgensen, said Norrøna’s fourth generation CEO and owner.

Norrøna House Flagship Store

The Norrøna House Flagship store has set a benchmark for the outdoor retail industry. Towering at more than 16 feet tall, an iconic color wall made entirely of Gore-Tex makes a statement right at the entrance. Norrøna has weaved in the stories of its 94-year legacy, with chronicles of its historic expeditions, to timelines of its most famed collections, to The Complexity of Simplicity installation, which represents its design philosophy, Loaded Minimalism™. Just below the sky roof, the Flagship store has set up a Gore-Tex-approved Storm Lab, which is the perfect setting for Norrøna’s in-house designers and customers to test both new and old products. At more than 2,600-square-feet, the Flagship store innovatively displays Norrøna’s entire collection and is also the site for REuse, its first second-hand store.

REuse Second Hand Store
The second-hand store is a part of a full-scale initiative from the brand, titled Norrøna REuse, which has been incorporated into other aspects throughout the company. Within Norrøna House, guests can also: hand in Norrøna products for REpair, check out outlet styles for a REduced price, REfit all products for the perfect tailored fit, REcycle Norrøna items not in use, REfresh gear to prep for upcoming seasons, or “try before you buy” at the Rental shop.

“To achieve zero waste, we have to rely on a circular economy in practice, which is a fascinating model with which to conduct our business,” said Jørgensen.

Modern event space
Originally for conferences and presentations, the modern theatre within Norrøna House is designed with the highest quality materials and most advanced technical solutions. With the capacity to hold 130 guests, the theatre and attached event space comes with a flexible setup and can easily transform into the perfect space to host a fashion show with a catwalk, or a concert.

Naturen Brasserie

Inspired by the company’s vision, “Welcome to Nature,” Naturen Brasserie will debut in 2024 as a new Nordic eatery, offering a blend of hygge and minimalism. Just like Norrøna’s collections, the menu concept will be seasonal and inspired by nature and tradition, and those subtle ties to nature will be evident to all those who dine at the restaurant. From locally sourced ingredients, exposed raw materials and spectacular views of the nearby Fåbrofossen waterfall, Naturen Brasserie is a result of Norrøna’s ambition to have House guests feel inspired and cared for.

“My motivation stems from bringing Norrøna’s vision, ‘Welcome to nature’ to life. I look forward to experimenting with high quality produce and drawing inspiration from Norwegian traditions and history, just as Norrøna has done with their collections,” said Maria Korotaeva, Naturen Brasserie Food and Beverage Manager.

Responsibility to a Historic Setting

Originally built in 1862, the 9,800-square-foot renovated former paper factory is situated in the heart of Lilleaker, a previously industrial part of Norway’s capital- turned-upscale-business district. It was important for Norrøna to choose materials that have longevity. The hot rolled steel used throughout the House is 90 percent recycled and was chosen based on its resemblance to the Trollveggen mountain face. All the woodwork used was traced and sourced responsibly. All of the lighting was changed to LED lighting and the brand’s building partner, Mustad, worked with a sustainable power solution.

“It’s essential to choose materials that reflect the quality of the product and the brand. It has to be of the highest quality so that when you enter a Norrøna store, office, showroom, wherever – you know right away where you are. All the choices should reflect that,” said Bård Kvamme, Director of Norrøna Retail.

As a means to preserve as much heritage of the building as possible, the contracted building team consciously took apart the original bricks of the former factory, washed the bricks, and then reused them for both the interior and exterior walls of the new. For Norrøna, the commitment to keeping as much of the heritage as possible is a top priority.

An International Housewarming Event

The new headquarters is located in Lysaker, Norway. There will be an in-store event in all retail stores all across the world on Nov. 10, celebrating the Norrøna House launch. To celebrate the occasion, loyalty members purchasing a product in all Norrøna retail stores will be eligible for giveaways that will include full lofoten kits that can be personalized with an in-house designer, an all-inclusive weekend at the Canvas Hotel, Norrøna’s luxury lodge situated in the heart of the Norwegian wilderness, and more.

Jogology Socks Win Runner’s World Gear of the Year Award

Wake Forest, N.C.  (November 8, 2023) – After just having launched in Run specialty stores in September, performance running sock brand Jogology is the winner of the coveted Runner’s World Gear of the Year Award for its new line of no show socks. In addition to capturing the attention of editors at Runner’s World, Jogology is already making strides and filling sock walls in Run specialty retailers where the socks are exclusively sold.

“We are so proud and honored to be recognized by the editors of Runner’s World for our new premium running socks,” said Tanya Pictor, co-founder of Jogology. “Created by runners and for runners, our Jogology socks are designed like running shoes. We lock in the heel, lock in the midfoot, and leave your toes to move naturally. The test of a premium running sock is wearing one without you even knowing that it is on your foot.”

Jogology low, medium and high cushion socks feature a luxurious cushioned sole and a cushioned arch support band for additional comfort and a unique cushion coverage on the big toes for added protection. These socks boast a second-skin fit, featuring arch support massage bands to reduce excess fabric and create moisture management between the foot and shoe. A soft knit ankle rib band minimizes pressure marks, and a protective area covers the large toe for added comfort. Crafted using 200 needle machines and sustainable, recycled re-dri™ yarn, these socks offer durability and softness. Mesh panels enhance aeration, and anatomical shaping ensures a proper fit for each foot.

“After more than 100 miles, my test pair is a mainstay in my sock drawer,” says one Runner’s World tester. “They have a left-right specific fit, and a snug heel hold that doesn’t get baggy after double-wears and multiple washes.”

Jogology socks are sold exclusively in select run specialty retailers in the U.S. To locate a store and learn more about the brand, please visit https://jogology.com/.

Spokane Regional Air Support Unit adds RECCO search-and-rescue helicopter detector system

STOCKHOLM, Sweden. (Nov. 8, 2023)RECCO, the advanced rescue technology manufacturer, this month launched its eighth RECCO SAR helicopter detector system in the US in partnership with the Spokane Regional Air Support Unit (SRASU) in western Washington. The helicopter system will be used to search for missing people in the outdoors year-round. This fall, SRASU personnel have been training on how to effectively deploy and use the RECCO detector. The Washington Rescue 3 Flight Crews are now officially operational with the system, allowing for lost outdoor recreationalists to be located more efficiently.

Many search and rescue teams in Washington are equipped with handheld RECCO detectors for year-round rescue scenarios, and this will be the second helicopter-based detector in the state. In the Washington and Montana areas, there are currently two RECCO SAR helicopter detector systems – one in Snohomish County near Seattle, and one in Flathead County Montana. The SRASU helicopter detector fills the gap between the two, allowing for increased searchability in the Spokane area and beyond.

“The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and the Spokane Regional Air Support Unit are excited to partner with RECCO to deploy this new technology at no cost. This new detection system will help save lives, reduce search times, and help keep our search and rescue teams safe. This is a much-needed tool for eastern Washington and northern Idaho,” said Chief David Ellis, Spokane Valley Police Department.

The RECCO SAR Helicopter Detector can quickly search large areas, covering a square kilometer in six minutes. Along with helping reduce search times for missing people, the helicopter-based detector can reduce the time and the exposure to risk for rescue workers during search missions.

“We are excited to announce that the SRASU is operational with the system. The placement in Spokane marks the first state with two helicopter units. This cooperation is an important next step in order to quicker locate people in distress in the state,” says Fredrik Steinwall, CEO at RECCO.

RECCO rescue reflectors are commonly found in outdoor clothing and equipment, such as bike helmets, hiking shoes and climbing harnesses. Other applications include backpacks, like the Helly Hansen Resistor Backpack, or in hunting apparel from the brand FORLOH out of Whitefish, Montana.

Currently, there are 36 RECCO SAR Helicopter detectors globally, with 12 located in North America and 24 units deployed across Europe. The latest deployments include Helico Secours, Quebec (CAN), Colorado Highland Helicopters, Durango (US) and a RECCO SAR helicopter detector based out of Lauterbrunnen (SUI) operated by Air Glaciers.

Kapsul™ Tech Partners with University of Houston Defensive Lineman, Nelson Ceaser, on NIL Deal

WATERLOO, ON (November 7, 2023) Kapsul Tech, a research and science company with a mission to protect athletes from head and neck injury, today announced its first NIL sponsorship deal with the University of Houston’s star Defensive Lineman, Nelson Ceaser.

Ceaser has been wearing Kapsul’s ATLAS Shirt, featuring the company’s patented neck collar, and proudly takes the field each week with the extra protection he can count on. Kapsul’s collar utilizes lightweight, rate-resistant foam that adjusts to protect athletes’ necks, providing support and stability. It’s the only dynamic neck stabilization product on the market that safeguards athletes from injury, strain, or fatigue through the dissipation of force, without limiting their range of motion.

“We’re excited to welcome Nelson to the Kapsul team,” said Dr. Daryl Sherman, Chief Executive Officer at Kapsul. “Nelson has made our collar an integral part of his game and performance, and his commitment to safety makes him the ideal athlete for Kapsul. Our partnership with Nelson is not just about the collar; it’s about safeguarding the future of sports and well-being of athletes, and we are proud to be on this journey with him.”

Kapsul was founded as a solution to reducing the risk of head injury in sports. While most research has focused on helmets as the primary mitigation strategy, Kapsul is accelerating a greater understanding of brain injury through research and science that studies the head and the neck together in real-time.

“I discovered Kapsul when I was looking for extra protection from a number of neck stingers I had throughout the last year,” said Ceaser. “Kapsul’s ATLAS Shirt has become an essential part of my gameday routine, and I’ve seen a significant decrease in the number of stingers since taking the field with it every game. With Kapsul, I can give it my all each week, knowing I’m doing everything to protect myself and keep playing the game I love.”

In addition to Ceaser, Kapsul has been working with the University of Houston’s Offensive and Defensive Linemen to co-develop solutions and new apparel options for head and neck protection in warm, humid conditions.

Kapsul aims to expand its roster of athlete advocates, recognizing the vital role they play in promoting safety in sports and enabling the game to be played for longer.

Kapsul’s ATLAS Short Sleeve Shirt is available for purchase on Kapsul’s website in Men’s, Women’s, and Junior sizes. For more information, please visit www.kapsultech.com.

Finally,  the brand’s all-time bestselling Desert Pucker and Mojave Pucker long-sleeve shirts are carbon neutral and are made with renewable beechwood.

Ninety six-percent of styles in the fall 2024 line meet or exceed the brand’s highest sustainability standard, which dictates a product must be made with 50% or more preferred cotton, recycled polyester, traceable wool, preferred forest materials, hemp, or recycled nylon.
