Allison is a fourth-generation Washington native, and has been goofing around in the woods since she was a wee one. Past pursuits include rock climbing and motorcycle riding, current ones, hiking, fly fishing, and a few disciplines of skiing. She enjoys visiting hot springs, camping in the desert during shoulder seasons, road trips to Idaho and places beyond. She was the Gear Editor for Washington Trails magazine from 2003-2010, and is now pursuing freelance work, including BACKPACKER, Outside, Sporting Goods Business, Fitness Travel Gear. She also works in theatre as a stage tech, primarily at the 5th Avenue Theatre in sunny Seattle. Conservation issues have always been of interest to her, and public service, as a member of the Trail Blazers, she gets to do both by working within the club, and in partnership with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to stock fry in high mountain lakes.
