La Sportiva Opens First Premium Retail Location in United States

BOULDER, Colo. (Jan 16, 2024) – La Sportiva, maker of the world’s finest mountain gear, today announced the opening of its first premium retail store in the United States. The new store is located at 2100 Broadway, which is the crossroads of Spruce and Broadway Streets in Boulder, Colorado, and opened its doors to the public on January 2, 2024. The location features products from La Sportiva’s entire collection, from climbing and running shoes to ski touring gear and premium apparel.

“We are not just opening a store here; we are creating a hub for the outdoor community,” said Jonathan Lantz, President of La Sportiva North America. “Boulder is renowned for its amazing access to climbing, trail running, and backcountry skiing. This store is designed to be a gathering place for mountain athletes, where the local community can come together to share their passion, experiences, and knowledge about the sports they love.”

The Boulder store aims to be a community center, hosting events, workshops, and group runs that celebrate the outdoor lifestyle. It’s a place where beginners can learn, experts can share, and everyone can experience the quality and innovation that La Sportiva brings to the world of mountain sports. This new location is part of a global brick-and-mortar strategy that aims to further integrate the brand into mountain towns across the world. The new Boulder store is La Sportiva’s first retail location in North America, adding to their current global retail presence of 12 stores located in the most iconic climbing and mountaineering towns in Europe.

La Sportiva has had a presence in the front range of Colorado since 1990, with Boulder serving as the brand’s second hub outside of the company’s home base, which is nestled in the Ziano di Fiemme in the Italian Dolomites. The North American arm of the company started in Colorado as a distributor and has since deepened its relationship with the family-owned Italian brand.

“As we expand into the US market, we want to draw a throughline back to our history in the Dolomites and connect with communities that share our passion for the outdoors,” said Lorenzo Delladio, president and CEO of La Sportiva. “Boulder has a rich history in the outdoor space, and its populace shares our views on the importance of environmental responsibility. We believe this is the perfect location for us to connect with our customers on a deeper level. Our goal with this store is not just to sell product, but to give something back to this wonderful city that has given so much to our brand over the years.”

La Sportiva invites the Boulder community and all who love the outdoors to visit the new location. A grand opening event is slated for this spring, with plans for a large celebration, bringing together La Sportiva’s top athletes, national media, and local outdoor enthusiasts.

Salomon U.S. Golden Trail National Series Unveils 2024 Calendar, Introducing Two New Races

Ogden, UTAH (Jan. 16, 2024) — Salomon is pleased to share the addition of the Wy’East Trailfest and Headlands 28k to the 2024 U.S. Golden Trail National Series (GTNS) race schedule. The 2024 calendar will feature five races across the U.S., including two Golden Trail World Series stops at the Headlands 28k in the Marin Headlands of California and Mammoth Trail Fest 26k in Mammoth, California, where trail runners from around the world will compete for a spot in Salomon’s Golden Trail World Series Final.

Developed exclusively for the U.S. Golden Trail National Series, the first-of-its kind Headlands 28k becomes California’s third iconic event alongside Mammoth Trail Fest and Broken Arrow Skyrace. This unique race spans approximately 28 km with 1,304 meters of vertical gain, featuring a mix of fast fire road running, steep climbs, technical sections and breathtaking views spanning the Bay Area, Pacific Ocean and beyond. The women’s and men’s Headland races are strategically scheduled on separate days to foster support and spectatorship for each gender, promoting a sense of community among trail runners.

“I’m excited to bring the Golden Trail World Series to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2024 with the creation of the Headlands 28k race,” says race director, Jeffrey Stern. “The area is a mecca for trail running with race history going back to 1905 and it will be an honor to have the opportunity to showcase portions of our world class trail network to runners from around the globe come September.”

In addition to the Headlands 28k, the GTNS is expanding into the Pacific Northwest with the Wy’East Trailfest in Oregon on Sunday, July 21, 2024. This 28K course features an elevation gain of 1310+ meters, taking trail-runners on a journey through the stunning alpine terrain of Mt. Hood.

“We are thrilled to have the Wy’east Trailfest event join the Golden Trail National Series next summer,” shares race director, Jeremy Long. “It’s an honor to represent the Pacific Northwest on the series tour and welcome athletes of all abilities to the illustrious alpine trails of Mt. Hood, Oregon’s tallest and most revered volcano.”

Along with the selected race distances in the series, several stops on the tour offer other sub-ultra distance races for trail runners of all levels and abilities. The Wy’East Trailfest provides 50k and 14k courses beside the 28k, catering to a diverse range of participants, from seasoned trail runners seeking a faster challenge, to newcomers looking for an approchable entry into the world of trail running. Additionally, Broken Arrow Skyrace will offer an 11k and 48k course, while Mammoth Trail Fest will hold a kids race, uphill challenge and 50k.

“Trail running is experiencing rocket-ship like growth and popularity right now and sub-ultra distance races are at the center of it,” says Salomon marketing manager, Steff Gardner.  “Salomon is psyched to help foster the community and culture of the sport by elevating the Golden Trail National and World Series in the U.S. even more in 2024.”

For its 2024 season, in addition to the two new races, the series will be returning to Broken Arrow Skyrace for the fourth time and celebrating the GTNS Final at Mammoth Trail Fest for the second year in a row. In addition, the series will be returning to Breakneck Point to kick off the 2024 calendar. The top three men and women from the National Series Final will be sent to the World Series Finale, location to be determined.

The races are open to everyone. Watch this video to learn more about the series. Additional information on the races and how to register will be available soon.

Revelshine Expands Distribution in Sprouts Farmers Market Throughout California and Colorado

SONOMA, CA (January 16, 2024) —Revelshine, a sustainable wine in infinitely recyclable aluminum bottles, announces availability in Sprouts Farmers Market stores in California and Colorado. Founded by fourth-generation Sonoma County winemaker Jake Bilbro, Revelshine is trailblazing a shift in the wine industry with its steadfast commitment to sustainability without sacrificing quality.

Starting this month, Revleshine is available for purchase in every Sprouts in California and select stores in Denver, Colorado. This launch has expanded the brand’s retail footprint significantly since launching to the mass market this year, adding 138 stores in retail availability.

Aluminum has a carbon footprint that is HALF that of a glass bottle, and Revelshine eliminates single-use waste without sacrificing the guesswork that often comes with choosing high-quality wine. A majority of glass used to make new wine bottles comes from raw materials, and about 70 percent goes back to landfills. Revelshine aluminum bottles are recyclable, resealable, temperature regulating, and weigh 60 percent less than the average glass bottle – the perfect vessel to take wine to new places beyond the table.

“Everyone should have access to high-quality, accessible wine. And thanks to our partnership with Sprouts, Revelshine is now easily accessible to consumers across California and Colorado,” said Jake Bilbro, founder of Revelshine. “Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the vineyards, and we are proud to bring Revelshine’s exceptional taste and quality to wine enthusiasts and wine-curious consumers.”

Inspired by the outdoors and made to go where glass can’t, Revelshine captures the spirit of adventure in first-to-market 500ml aluminum bottles. Now that Revelshine is available at more retail locations, customers in California and Colorado can pick up wine to take on their excursions or even to escape to their backyards with family and friends.

Alongside founder Jake Bilbro, Revelshine co-founders include renowned outdoor athletes and musicians Jeremy Jones, Shane Dorian, Emily Harrington, Adrian Ballinger, Selema Masekela, Michelle Parker, Vasu Sojitra, Tanner Gudauskas, Patrick Gudauskas, Dane Gudauskas, Chris Davenport, Drew Holcomb, and Donovan Frankenreiter.

Varieties include:

  • Red Zinfandel-based blend
  • Rosé Grenache-based blend
  • White Chardonnay-based blend

With a strong commitment to sustainability, Revelshine sources responsibly, adopts eco-friendly packaging, and strives for carbon neutrality. Revelshine is available in rosé, white, and red. (Jan. 11, 2024) — Moultrie Mobile, a leader in cellular trail cameras and all-in- one remote monitoring systems, today announced it is expanding its lineup of industry-leading cellular scouting solutions with new products for 2024. The new products include the next generation of the successful EDGE Series cellular trail cameras, a cellular-enabled feeder management system, and purpose-built accessories designed to make Moultrie Mobile products more powerful and convenient.

“We want to continue to reset the standard of performance, convenience, and value for our customers,” said Daniel Wilson, General Manager for Moultrie Mobile. “Hunters and landowners are seeking reliable and easy-to-use solutions for monitoring their properties, and we are striving to provide them with the most advanced products and technologies available. We’ve enhanced several trusted products to improve performance while also introducing all-new solutions for 2024.”

The EDGE 2 ($99.99) expands on the premium performance of the original EDGE camera to offer a more powerful and feature-rich device at an outstanding value. It delivers many of the industry-leading benefits the EDGE Series is known for, including Auto Connect Technology and built-in memory, while introducing an all-new On-Demand feature that enables users to trigger a photo or video within the Moultrie Mobile App and have it available immediately after capture. The EDGE 2 also offers enhanced image quality with 36MP photos and 720p HD video featuring full audio, an expanded 50-foot field of view, a faster 0.4 trigger speed, an advanced low-glow IR LED array for improved night images, and an updated PIR for improved trigger accuracy.

The EDGE 2 PRO ($139.99) advances the brand’s flagship EDGE PRO model with new technology and features that make it the top-of-the-line choice in its category. In addition to carrying over the EDGE PRO’s industry-first False Trigger Elimination Technology that eliminates up to 99% of false triggers, the EDGE 2 PRO is upgraded with GPS, On-Demand, tamper detection, a lightning-fast 0.3 trigger speed, and no-glow flash. Additionally, the EDGE 2 PRO is built with NYXEL® NIR (near infrared) technology for enhanced low-light performance with minimized power consumption, best-in-class 40MP images and 1080P videos with HD sound, a detection range of up to 100 feet, built-in memory, flexible power options, and nationwide coverage with Auto Connect Technology. The EDGE 2 PRO also has the Bluetooth-enabled Live Aim feature for precise camera mounting.

Moultrie Mobile’s FEED HUB ($99.99) offers first-of-its-kind cellular connectivity and control for nearly any game feeder. FEED HUB is a three-part system consisting of a universal Feed Level Detector that can be mounted in the hopper of nearly any spin-cast feeder, a cellular-connected timer that installs in a feeder kit, and the Moultrie Mobile App. FEED HUB allows hunters to convert their existing feeder to cellular and remotely monitor feed and battery levels, run feeders on demand, receive alerts when the feeder is clogged, and set and adjust feed schedules –– all using the Moultrie Mobile App. This provides peace of mind that the feeder is operating as expected, enables remote control for easy adjustments, and helps plan trips to service the feeder more efficiently.

FEED HUB KIT ($149.99) combines the FEED HUB with Moultrie’s top-selling Pro Hunter II Kit for an all- in-one cellular feeder kit. This total package comes equipped with a Feed Level Detector, Feed Hub Cellular Timer pre-installed into the Moultrie Pro Hunter II feeder kit, along with a Quick-Lock adapter for custom feeder assemblies. With this kit, users can now conveniently monitor feed and battery levels remotely, operate feeders on demand, and adjust feed times using the Moultrie Mobile App.

For land managers who are only interested in monitoring feed levels in gravity or spin-cast feeders, the FEED LEVEL DETECTOR ($59.99) can be mounted in any feed hopper. This device sends feed level updates to the Moultrie Mobile App so that you can plan maintenance trips to your feeder more efficiently.

Moultrie Mobile is releasing an updated 3.4W SOLAR BATTERY PACK ($59.99) and a 10W SOLAR BATTERY PACK ($99.99) to offer customers durable and dependable power options for all major brands of trail cameras at an attractive price point. These powerful packs provide considerably more power than standard solar panels and include built-in rechargeable battery packs that store enough power to keep devices working during weeks of cloud cover, ensuring equipment is always running properly. Both solar battery packs are compatible with standard 12v camera barrel jacks as well as USB-C for charging Moultrie Mobile’s rechargeable battery packs as well as other consumer electronics devices like smart phones.

Customers looking for a reliable power source for EDGE Series cameras while saving money and waste have the choice of two new rechargeable battery packs – the RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY ($49.99) and the RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY MAX ($99.99 MSRP). Designed to provide maximum power storage and efficiency for better performance than AA batteries, these rechargeable lithium-ion batteries eliminate the need for expensive AA batteries. Customers can choose between the RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY at a great price, or they can upgrade to the RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY MAX for double the energy capacity.

Additional Moultrie Mobile accessories designed for the EDGE Series cameras set to launch in 2024 include an EDGE SERIES CAMERA STAKE ($39.99) that is FLEX MOUNT and ¼”-20 compatible, an EDGE SERIES FLEX MOUNT 2 ($19.99) with upgraded adjustability, and an EDGE SERIES EASY AIM MOUNT ($12.99).

Outdoor Industry Praises Creation of Connecticut’s Office of Outdoor Recreation

BOULDER – Reports of a new Office of Outdoor Industry and Experiences in Connecticut today were praised by outdoor industry stakeholders across the country, including Outdoor Industry Association president, Kent Ebersole, who issued the following statement:

“From coast to coast, it is encouraging to see the growing number of states prioritizing their local outdoor recreation economies,” said Kent Ebersole, president of Outdoor Industry Association. “The reason for this momentum is simple: the outdoor recreation economy accounts for more than $1 trillion in consumer spending nationwide and supports more than five million hard-working employees and their families across the nation. Furthermore, the number of Americans who participate in the outdoors has increased to new heights for eight consecutive years, with over 56% of the population getting outside. We welcome the state of Connecticut to this movement and look forward to working with policymakers there to increase access to public lands and waterways, advance conservation efforts, and increase outdoor participation, so everyone can experience the benefits from spending time outdoors.”

Greg Minnaar is Just Getting Started as he Joins Norco.

VANCOUVER, January 9, 2024—In a bold move, champion downhiller Greg Minnaar has signed with the Norco Factory racing team. With four World Championship victories and 23 World Cup wins, the South African is one of the most decorated riders in the sport, and he has big plans with Norco next season and beyond. Minnaar is focused on working with Norco’s engineers to develop equipment that will change the game, while also nurturing the next generation of talent.

“Until recently, I had no idea that Norco had such an incredible engineering team,” said Minnaar. “I’ve never seen this in the bike industry, where the engineering team has a separate division to work with the race team. I’ll be lucky enough to direct this program, to be a part of a culture of performance and leverage my years of experience, while giving myself the best possible chance between the tape. This is the beginning of a new chapter for me and for Norco—we’re just getting started.”

In addition to racing, Minnaar will lead the Norco Factory race team, joining current members Gracey Hemstreet and Lucas Cruz, while starting to build the team for the future.

“What an honour it is to have the greatest of all time as a teammate,” said Cruz. “Ever since meeting him in my first Word Cup season he’s been such a down to earth guy and a person you can’t help but look up to! I can’t wait to get to know him better and do some serious damage on the circuit this year alongside Gracey and the GOAT.”

Hemstreet added, “I’m super excited to have Greg as part of Norco Factory this year. I couldn’t ask for a better mentor. I believe that Greg’s experience and knowledge in the sport will take our team to the next level. It’s going to be a great year.”

Greg will also mentor Norco’s youth development team, The Source, a program aimed at finding and fostering the future of downhill racing, giving them the support and tools they need to succeed.

The work for next season has already begun, with Minnaar due to race on the prototype Norco DH bike, something he will be working closely with the engineering team to optimize even further over the season. “I am here to build the fastest team, with the fastest bike,” said Minnaar.

“We can think of no better way to kick off our 60th anniversary year than to have an icon of the sport like Greg join our team,” said Gwen van Lingen, Head of Brand at Norco. “Not just looking at now, but planning for the future is exciting for Norco, Greg, and the sport as a whole.”
