Norwegian Outdoor Brand Norrøna Announces Varg: A Luxury, Adventure Sail Yacht

OSLO, Norway (Oct. 30, 2024) — Heritage Norwegian adventure and outdoor brand Norrøna is pleased to announce the expansion of its adventure travel offerings with the upcoming launch of the Varg sailing yacht in 2025. The luxury sailing yacht will bring outdoor enthusiasts to stunning, remote locations across Northern Norway to experience world class skiing, hiking, culinary offerings and more.

“We’ve considered having a Norrøna Adventure sailboat for a few years now and were thrilled when we found this boat for sale,” shares Jørgen Jørgensen, leader and fourth-generation owner of Norrøna. “The original boat was designed and built in Norway and is perfectly equipped for incredible days on the sea and in the fjords of Northern Norway, where guests can partake in a multitude of outdoor adventures or enjoy the breathtaking views from the on-deck hot tubs.”

The Varg is currently being refurbished to accommodate this new chapter to provide a luxury adventure experience for six to eight guests at a time. Guests will enjoy four updated comfortable, cozy cabins, each with their own bathroom and drying facilities. A wood-fired sauna, fireplace and on-deck wood-fired hot tubs will allow guests to unwind and relax after a day of adventuring while a dedicated chef crafts locally inspired cuisine in the updated galley. Varg will sail year-round, offering guided commercial trips with set itineraries and custom-tailored trips based on the guests’ preferences.

“The opportunities for adventure are endless with the addition of Varg, whether individuals want to experience the midnight sun of the summers, the Northern Lights or the long ski season,” Jørgensen says. “This addition is especially exciting as Norrøna plans to open several lodges in Northern Norway in the coming years. Varg will be able to transport our guests between these lodges, truly creating the adventure of a lifetime.”
