Featuring body-mapped membrane technology to increase breathability without sacrificing protection, the Tushar Rain Jacket is a seam-taped fully waterproof jacket that is intentionally designed with a more durable membrane in high wear areas and a separate more breathable membrane in low wear areas to keep hikers, runners and cyclists comfortable and safe in extreme conditions. This ultralight jacket doesn’t sacrifice durability and features fabrics that are more robust than what is typically used for products in this category.
“Ultralight rain jackets present a real challenge for designers, as there is typically a tradeoff between weight, breathability, and durability.” Says Tayson Whittaker, founder of Outdoor Vitals. “At only 7-oz, the Tushar Rain Jacket features a 20D micro-ripstop nylon face fabric that is nearly twice as strong as similar offerings. This is enabled in part by the incredible Toray Torain membrane and seam taping that boasts increased breathability and longevity. In addition, we use two different waterproof membranes in the Tushar, which increases breathability and adds protection in the areas that receive the most pressure.”
The $229 2.5 layer jacket also boasts a brand-new 3D printed inner that helps to eliminate extra moisture and keeps the membrane protected and separated from the skin. The 3D print backing reduces weight significantly, allowing the Tushar to use stronger fabrics but still come in at an ultralight weight. Pit zips help with breathability and temperature regulation, allowing users to wear the jacket when temperatures rise.
The Altitude Sun Hoodie is built for those who push further, climb higher and refuse to quit when the going gets tough. Whisper-thin and quick-drying, this weightless top is made from a highly breathable synthetic fabric that wicks moisture away from the skin as temperatures rise.
