OSLO, Norway (Aug. 8, 2023) — Norrøna, the family-owned Norwegian manufacturer of premium apparel and gear, is proud to present its new ‘Tailored for Her’ women’s specific ski and mountaineering specific products, which will be available for Fall of 2023. The brand also shared updates on its U.S. women’s ambassador team, an inspiring group of mountain athletes including: Skier and mountain biker Delilah Cupp, trail runner and surfer Robin Vieira, trail runner and backcountry skier Hilary McCloy, and skier and mountaineer Darcy Conover.

“We always work closely with our versatile team of ambassadors, testers, and adventurers when developing our products,” said CEO and fourth-generation owner, Jørgen Jørgensen. “Many of the popular styles our fans have grown to love are the direct results of the close cooperation and long processes of testing our ambassador team undertakes to ensure we equip them with functional, high-quality products. The new Tailored for Her collection passed our female ambassadors rigorous testing process, and we’re excited to introduce the collection to women around the world.”

Tailored for Her collection:

The protective pants are made for ski touring and work perfectly for all activities in which larger sized boots are needed, including mountaineering, climbing and trekking. Key features include: an elasticated waist, two zippered front products perfect for car keys, spacious and open thigh pockets that stretch for beanies and extra layers, mesh ventilation on the back of the thighs, articulated knees, an elasticated adjustable snow gaiter and reinforced fabric around the ankles for additional snow protection.

Developed for ski touring, the windproof and stretchy material offers next-to-skin comfort and movability of tights, with the functionality of ski pants. Key features include: high, comfortable waist with a lace for tightening, big stretch pockets on the thighs, an adjustable bottom leg with a gusset to accommodate walk mode and ski mode and integrated stretch snow gaiters.

Norrøna’s first insulated skirt is designed to provide breathable warmth while hiking in the mountains, and also works well as an insulating layer for ski touring. Made with a recycled nylon face fabric for lightweight durability, the front and back sides of the skirt have been insulated with polyester for warmth and breathability. The entire circumference of the skirt has been insulated, with the front half of the skirt featuring a lighter fabric to prevent unnecessary bulk.

The brand is proud to share updates from its roster of U.S. women ambassadors and their recent accomplishments:

Darcy Conover: “I ran in the Emerald Mountain Epic Trail Marathon and raced a personal best time placing 14th! This summer I hope to complete hiking the 100 highest peaks in Colorado. In the meantime, I will also be working on summiting the Bi-Centennial Peaks (200 highest peaks in Colorado). I have 30 more to go to complete! When not in the mountains or on the trail, I am teaching my 7-year-old daughter to ski.”

Delilah Cupp: “My ski season was cut short by heartbreakingly tearing my other ACL in March (15 months after my first ACL tear). In between the two injuries, I managed to create my first self-produced video series, [DEL]ETED SCENES. Although I was initially totally devastated following both injuries, I quickly pivoted to make the best of my situation and learned to love gravel biking, hiking, and finding alternative modes to navigate the mountains while I work my way back up to skiing and mountain biking. I created a vlog series documenting my first ACL recovery process and have lent support and advice to a surprisingly large cohort of fellow ACL rehabbers.”

Robin Vieira: “The ability to work for myself and create what I want with intention is such a gift. The grinds of starting a business are real, and sometimes mean less time on the bike or skis or surfing or running. But hard work pays off, no matter what you dedicate your efforts to. Up next, I’m revamping my other business, Mindfully, Robin Coaching & Mentoring. I’ve been coaching women for the past 2 years for cycling and running by creating custom plans for their everyday lives that excel them toward their personal fitness, wellness and activity goals.”

Hilary McCloy: “I run a performance physical therapy business that specializes in working with runners, skiers, mtn bikers and anyone who enjoys spending time moving their body and being outdoors. I have been open for two and a half years and have recently moved into a beautiful space that’s a small gym and treatment area. I’m really proud to combine my own personal life passions with work. Also, I recently participated in Last Woman Standing at Last Skier Standing, skiing for 36 hours, 108 miles and 44,000 feet of elevation gain and putting my norrøna ski kit to good use.”
