Granite Gear, Minnesota manufacturer of award winning backpacks, portage packs, and travel gear, is excited to announce the newest member of their team. Reece Hickman, based on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota will take on the role of PR and Social Media Manager. Hickman will lead point on content strategy, the Grounds Keeper Program, and media relations.
Hickman began her career in the sunny city of Seattle, as the US Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Sidas Technologies North America, a leading brand in the insole industry. From there she moved on to become an Influencer Relations and Content Strategist for Askov Finlayson, a Minnesota based company paving the way in climate- positive outerwear. She has a passion for building an engaged social media community, creating digital content, all things outdoors, and a love for visual storytelling. When she is not teaching the rest of the team all the in’s and out’s of TikTok, you can find her hiking along the SHT, canoeing in the BWCA, and capturing every sunrise out there.
“Reece’s skill set, personality and love of The North made this hire an easy choice. I’m thrilled to have her on the Granite Gear team!” says Rob Coughlin, Granite Gear’s General Manager.
Julie Bacon, who has done an exemplary job for Granite Gear, in all things marketing, media relations, and fostering the Grounds Keeper program, is moving on to become the Head of Sales and Marketing at Hibear. While we are sad to see her go, we know she will continue to do great things in the outdoor industry.
“Julie has made such a positive impact on our business and culture here at Granite Gear. It sucks to see her leave but she’ll always be part of the GG family.” Says, Coughlin.
