SALT LAKE CITY (Jan. 23, 2024) — PHANTOM Glide, the permanent, single-application base treatment for skis and snowboards, has added a Nordic formula to its product lineup and bolstered its sales team with the addition of two new sales managers, Doug Sheehy and Pete Leazott. The new PHANTOM Glide Nordic is an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional ski waxes and provides the same eco-friendly performance as the original formula but is optimized to provide a universal glide solution for Nordic skiing, a discipline that is extremely reliant on glide. Sheehy and Leazott, along with Justin Greenbaum, the Rockies sales and tech rep who joined in September, will support the launch of PHANTOM Glide Nordic and continue the sales momentum of the original PHANTOM Glide.
“PHANTOM Glide Nordic is a natural evolution of PHANTOM Glide and incorporates all of the advantageous qualities of the original formula, while adding a performance edge at speeds that are common in human-powered Nordic skiing,” says Thomas Laakso, senior vice president at PHANTOM Glide. “PHANTOM Glide Nordic is formulated for non-gravity initiated starts and will continue to make a difference in a ski’s coefficient of gliding long after traditional waxes have worn off.”
Both PHANTOM Glide and PHANTOM Glide Nordic are made up of a patent-pending polymer technology that uses microscopic short-chain compounds to penetrate and diffuse into the unstructured sections of ski and snowboard bases. After just one application, PHANTOM Glide and PHANTOM Glide Nordic provide increased glide for the lifetime of the ski and possess no environmental harm or harm to humans. For maximum efficacy, it is recommended that customers take their skis and snowboards to an authorized PHANTOM Glide dealer with a UV cure station.

Doug Sheehy has sales experience in both business-to-business and retail sales, most recently as store manager of Christy Sports/Cottam’s Ski Shop in Taos, New Mexico. Sheehy will be the East Coast and key account PHANTOM Glide sales manager. Based in Stowe, Vermont, Sheehy will support New England and Mid-Atlantic dealers as well as dealers in Eastern Canada. Pete Leazott has an extensive sales background, most recently working as a sales representative for RM Sales Ltd. in Colorado and New Mexico for notable brands, including Salomon and Arcade Belts. As PHANTOM Glide’s European sales manager, Leazott will base out of Switzerland and will oversee European sales and support PHANTOM Glide distributors in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Norway and Sweden.
