Ride 15, Axon 2 and Peregrine 12 earn top spots in industry’s most comprehensive shoe testing process

WALTHAM, MASS. (March 1, 2022) – Global performance running lifestyle brand Saucony today announced that it has won three Editor’s Choice Awards in the Runner’s World Spring 2022 Shoe Guide. The completely redesigned Ride 15, the maximally cushioned Axon 2 and the light and speedy Peregrine 12 all rose to the top in the most comprehensive running shoe testing process in the industry. With real-world testing over paved roads, dirt paths and rocky singletrack, the Saucony trio highly resonated with the publication’s experienced test editors, wear testers and the mechanical testers in the Runner’s World Shoe Lab.

  • In its review of the Ride 15, Runner’s World called the shoe a “workhorse of a trainer with moderate cushioning, able to tackle everyday efforts and well-suited for a high percentage of new runners.” One tester reported, “the best part of this shoe was the incredible cushioning.”
  • “How is this shoe only $100?” asked the Runner’s World editors in their review of the Axon 2. “Looks and feels maximally cushioned, but it’s shockingly lightweight and compels you to strive for race pace.”
  • “The Peregrine 12 is just as suited for newbies’ first footprints on a muddy trail as it is for shielding vert-chasers’ toes on rock-strewn singletrack,” wrote the test editors about their decision to name the Peregrine Editor’s Choice for the sixth time since the shoe’s original debut in Spring 2011. They added: “It’s earned multiple awards from our team for its versatility—across terrains, foot shapes, and distances—at a price that didn’t break the bank.”

“This recognition from Runner’s World again proves that our relentless commitment to innovation, culture and heritage allows us to elevate the runner’s journey on both the roads and trails,” said Brian Moore, Saucony’s senior vice president of global product. “As we bring new people into our sport, we want them to have the best experience possible. The Ride 15 is built to deliver everything a new runner desires; the step-in comfort is a lasting one and the ride is consistent and extremely smooth. The Axon 2, designed for long-lasting comfort, delivers a stacked bed of PWRUN cushioning that rolls you forward effortlessly. And, the latest iteration of the renowned Peregrine extends the limits of performance innovation on many levels, conveying the feeling of being light and agile yet further maximizing traction and protection.”
