The outdoor product market moved back into negative territory in April. Outdoor Footwear sales were again hurt by weaker sales of Barefoot Footwear product, Outdoor Apparel suffered against tough comparisons to last year and Outdoor Hardgoods saw challenges from earlier season sales this year. Total outdoor product sales declined 5.6 percent to $690.1 million in the four-week fiscal month of April ended April 28, 2012. All macro categories — Outdoor Footwear, Outdoor Apparel and Outdoor Hardgoods — were down for the month.
