Therm-a-Rest®, the leader in outdoor sleeping gear for more than 50 years, is introducing the next generation of its best-selling NeoAir® XLite™ sleeping pad in spring 2023. Making the best even better, the new NeoAir® XLite™ NXT maintains its ultralight weight, but increases in comfort and is significantly quieter than the current XLite.
Therm-a-Rest never stops innovating. For the last half decade, the brand has been working non-stop to introduce lighter, more durable and comfortable gear – all with the goal of creating a better night’s rest under the stars. For spring 2023, the brand is not only introducing the next generation of the NeoAir XLite, but it is introducing a lighter and more comfortable NeoAir® XTherm™ sleeping pad, the NeoAir® XTherm™ NXT, and a new down Honcho Poncho, a cozier and more wearable version of the current fan favorite.
“It’s our mission to craft innovations that eliminate distractions and enable campers to rest well and focus on the beauty of mother nature. It’s not about creating more. It’s a relentless pursuit to build better,” says Kalon Pilmanis, Vice President of Product at Cascade Designs, the parent company of Therm-a-Rest. “Our 2023 introductions are the result of an initiative: less is truly more. With less weight, bulk, noise and environmental impact, we drastically improved our highest rated products, equipping campers for an even more comfortable night under the stars.”
A new standard in ultralight comfort and performance for backpacking, the NeoAir XLite NXT features new technology and increased comfort. The XLite NXT uses a refined ThermaCapture™ technology, now integrated into the Triangular Core Matrix™, that is six times quieter than the current pad. At three inches thick (a half inch thicker than the current pad), the XLite NXT delivers exceptional support and comfort on the trail. With a 4.5 R-value, the pad is
ideal for any adventure any season and the 30D Ripstop Nylon offers greater protection from punctures. The ultralight pad weighs in at 12.5 ounces (regular) and packs down as small as a one liter water bottle. To learn more about the NeoAir XLite NXT, visit the Therm-a-Rest YouTube page.
Built for extreme, cold-weather pursuits, the NeoAir XTherm NXT sleeping pad is lighter, warmer and more comfortable than the current XTherm. The five-layer ThermaCapture™ technology, integrated into the Triangular Core Matrix, offers the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad on the market. The ultralight pad weighs in at 15.5 ounces (1.5 ounces lighter than the current XTherm) and boasts a 7.3 R-value (.4 warmer than the current pad). At 3 inches thick (.5 inches thicker than the current pad), the XTherm NXT enhances comfort while improving lightweight performance on the trail.
The new Honcho Poncho Down is a welcomed addition to the Honcho Poncho family. The cozier and more functional Honcho Poncho Down features updated tailoring for a more refined fit; including an anorak style front zipper, dedicated arm holes and a three-panel hood for additional warmth. The 650-fill Nikwax Hydrophobic Down is water resistant and dries three-times faster than alternatives and the 100% recycled nylon shell features a water-resistant
DWR coating. Combined – the down insulation, refined fit and elevated fabrics – provide next-level performance and comfort at camp.
The NeoAir XLite NXT (MSRP: $199.95, regular), NeoAir XTherm NXT (MSRP: $229.95, regular) and Honcho Poncho Down (MSRP: $249.95, regular) will be debuting spring 2023. Our founder’s mission was simple: create a better way to sleep outside; because when you rest better, you play better. Their ingenuity and vision back in 1972 led to the creation of the first self-inflating sleeping pad. Today, we’re still working towards the same mission to craft the best sleeping pads and bags on the market. We’re not just giving explorers a better way to camp, we’re giving them better adventures tomorrow. For more information, visit www.thermarest.com.
