OIA was founded in 1989 by a group of 14 visionary outdoor industry leaders who created the association to be a unified, collaborative, pre-competitive voice to help guide the industry. For over 35 years, OIA has helped the outdoor industry grow by providing expertise in market research, sustainability, government affairs, and inclusive participation.
