Yesterday, the Utah Legislature passed HB 52 “Office of Outdoor Recreation Amendments,” and it is headed to Governor Herbert’s desk.

Last month we told you about HB52, a bill in the Utah state legislature to fund the Office of Outdoor Recreation. The bill has passed the legislature and is on its way to the desk of Governor Herbert, who is expected to sign it into law.
Special thanks to those businesses and individuals who called, emailed, tweeted, told friends or otherwise helped show the Utah Legislature that the outdoor industry stands behind this important investment in our industry.
Utah’s Office of Outdoor Recreation just welcomed a new director, and this is a great step to mature and extend the impact of that role and doubles the $500,000 that was invested in a version of the bill last year. That’s an excellent number for year-over-year growth, and sets the stage for more good things to come.
Your engagement helps ensure Utah’s amazing outdoor experiences are available to more people for the long run and with your help we will keep getting these kind of wins.
