Executives Advocate for the Outdoor Industry at Capitol Summit
Nearly fifty executives from the outdoor industry will join the Outdoor Industry Association Government Affairs team in Washington D.C. today to meet with members of Congress and the Obama administration to promote policies that support outdoor recreation and the businesses that contribute billions of dollars to local, state and the national economy.
With a focus on jobs and the economy, this year’s Capitol Summit draws a record attendance from across the industry to press Congress to support and pass legislation that funds access to recreation systems from the backyard to the backcountry and invest in the National Park Service, the Recreational Trails Program, and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).
Attendees are also calling on Congress to lower or eliminate import tariffs on outdoor products where they don’t support U.S. manufacturing and end up unnecessarily taxing outdoor businesses and raising prices for American consumers.
Even if you are not in Washington today, we welcome you to view the Attendee Book to get an idea of what specific issues your fellow industry members will focus on during this year’s summit.
