Goal: Within a generation everyone experiences the fun and joy of the outdoors once a week.
The Outdoor Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 established by the Outdoor Industry Association.
The outdoor foundation will continue to work with individual brands on grant programs however the foundation is embarking on a new community grant making strategy called Thrive Outside. More information will be available in 2019.LEARN MORE
Launched in 2010, Outdoor Nation is a first-of-its-kind nationwide initiative created by the Outdoor Foundation to engage and activate young adults in the outdoors. With support from the Outdoor Foundation, the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education, AORE, assumed ownership of the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge in fall of 2018.LEARN MORE
The Outdoor Foundation’s research investigates the depth and effect of Americans participation in outdoor recreation. Each year, the Outdoor Foundation produces reports to help understand the demographic and lifestyle changes taking place in the U.S. and around the world as they relate to outdoor recreation.LEARN MORE
Through the annual Outsiders Ball, the Outdoor Foundation is uniting industry leaders to inspire the next generation to get outside. In the past four years, Outsiders Ball has raised over $1 million to fund more than 300 community-led outdoor initiatives, providing 65,000 youths with opportunities to experience the outdoors.LEARN MORE
