Saucony will offer limited-edition sneakers designed by patients at Children’s hospitals in Atlanta, Boston, Canada, and New Orleans
WALTHAM, Mass. – July 29, 2021— Global performance running lifestyle brand Saucony, today announced its latest Run For Good Children’s Program with children’s hospitals across the country. Saucony is uniting with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Boston’s Children’s Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans with the help of young patients to create limited-edition footwear and apparel collections and raise money for the children’s hospitals or their designated charity.
This latest collaboration builds upon the Saucony Run For Good Foundation, the brand’s existing philanthropic platform. The Foundation, established in 2006 to help combat childhood obesity, has been an industry leader in supporting nationwide efforts to ensure that children in the U.S. can grow up healthy and fit. Over the past 15 years, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million dollars in grants to approximately 200 schools and community organizations all dedicated to preventing childhood obesity through running and proper nutrition.
For this extraordinary design initiative, each young patient inspired Saucony designers to create footwear and apparel that expressed their personal stories. Twenty percent of every sale from these collections will be donated to the children’s hospitals or their designated charity, for a minimum donation of $200,000 collectively. “‘Run For Good’” is an invitation to people everywhere, especially our children, to experience the transformative power of running,” said Anne Cavassa, president of Saucony. “These collections authentically reflect the personalities and dreams of each patient-artist. By sharing their life stories and playful energy through their footwear and apparel designs, these kids are a source of hope and inspiration to not only other patients and their families, but for anyone who needs some goodness in their life right now. This project has been very close to the hearts of everyone at Saucony and we know the running community will also fully embrace its joy and significance.”
