TrailHeads Announces 2021 Recipient of Blaze Your Own Trail Scholarship Program

On February 3rd, TrailHeads co-founders, Stephanie and Ed Raftery, selected the 2021 recipient of the TrailHeads Blaze Your Own Trail Scholarship. The Scholarship was awarded to  Shreya Shivakumar. Ms. Shivakumar will be attending Barnard College in the fall. 

TrailHeads President Stephanie Raftery commented, “We’re grateful to all of the students who reached out and shared their stories with us. Our Scholarship Program had an incredibly competitive field this year. We look forward to continuing the program next year.” 

TrailHeads was founded in 2002 and is a family owned, Kent, CT based ecommerce retailer that markets a collection of hats, gloves, headbands and related accessories for the running and outdoor market. 

TrailHeads is dedicated to helping people overcome challenges of all kinds and has long standing partnerships with organizations like Guiding Eyes for the Blind and Make a Wish. 

Through the creation of this Scholarship Program, TrailHeads’ goal is to recognize and support students who have faced and overcome their own challenges. The 2022 Scholarship will be announced and begin accepting submissions in the spring of 2021. Visit our Scholarship page for updates. 

The Scholarship is open to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students across the nation. The recipient, who will be selected based on his/her essay submission, will receive a one time $1,000 scholarship. The award can be put towards any education related expense from tuition to books to room and board. 

Applicants must be 17 or older and be attending an accredited college or university within the United States.
