Lake Tahoe, CA — Jun 25, 2012

Tahoe Mountain Sports, Deuter and the Tahoe Rim Trail Association are teaming up for a unique opportunity to test out a variety of great backpacks while hiking on one of Tahoe’s most beautiful trails.
“This is a great way to really figure out what kind of backpack will work best for you – working with pack experts and putting packs through the paces on the trail,” said Tahoe Mountain Sports owner Dave Polivy. “And you get to go on a beautiful hike in Lake Tahoe, what’s not to like?”
Going from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, the hike will start at the Mt. Rose Trailhead on Highway 431, heading through wildflower speckled fields to the beautiful Galena Falls.
“It’s great that we get to offer something extra with Deuter and Tahoe Mountain Sports on this hike,” said Jaime Souza from the Tahoe Rim Trail Association. “We get tons of people asking which backpack is right for them and its always been hard for us to answer that question. When TMS stepped in this season to offer these pack demo hikes, we thought it was a natural fit for our organizations to work together.”
Whether you’re looking for the perfect pack for quick day hikes or a serious load hauler for a multi-week trip on a trail like the TRT, we’ll have the latest and greatest from Deuter, who have been making packs since 1898, and are the pack of choice for the National Outdoor Leadership School.
“We’re really excited to get our packs in the hands of hikers in Tahoe so they can see what sets Deuter packs apart,” said Christian Mason of Deuter USA.
Deuter experts will be on hand to help you get the perfect fit out of the packs and to talk about the different features available – there’s no better way to get the perfect pack for your needs!
Tahoe Mountain Sports is the region’s foremost Deuter dealer and a committed partner and sponsor of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association.
The hike is free and participants will walk away with free gear from Deuter and Tahoe Mountain Sports.
