BOULDER, Colo., September 24, 2019 –On September 28, National Public Lands Day, outdoor stewards can help raise money by shopping Moosejaw, Under Canvas and Clif Family Winery and Upslope Brewing Company to support Outdoor Industry Association’s national and close to home efforts to protect public lands, the backbone of the outdoor industry. Each partner brand will be donating a percentage of their sales from Public Lands Day, and in some cases a portion of sales through the weekend (September 28-29), to OIA’s public lands advocacy programs.

Public Lands Day, created by the National Environmental Education Foundation and first celebrated in 1994, was established to promote recreation on and the protection of public lands through volunteerism. For those that can’t get out to volunteer on Public Lands Day, OIA has partnered with outdoor industry brands to offer an alternative way to support public lands promotion and protection.

“OIA believes that people who love public lands have a collective voice and power in local and federal government issues,” said Patricia Rojas-Ungar, OIA VP of government affairs. “Timely engagement on issues critical to the health of the outdoor industry, including public lands policy, is not just the right thing to do – it’s a must-do.”

“Moosejaw is proud to support OIA’s efforts to educate and protect public lands,” said Mike Kulick, social media marketing manager. “We want to make the outdoors as accessible and inclusive as possible and thanks to organizations like OIA we can continue to enjoy the lands where we play, or nap, or play Frisbee.”

“Under Canvas is committed to the protection and preservation of the natural environment” said May Lilley, VP of marketing and communications for Under Canvas. “Our mission is to encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors and in turn become ambassadors of our public lands. This partnership goes hand in hand with our core values, and we’re happy to partner with OIA to raise money for this critical effort.”
