Slingshot Sports’ Launch of Foil Academy, Accompanied By The Introduction of A New Entry-Level Winging Package Marks A Commitment To Growing The Winging Community

Slingshot Sports, industry-bending innovators and manufacturer of watersports equipment, launched their online learning platform, Foil-Academy.com, to provide users with a comprehensive library of learning resources for winging. With over 6 hours of total content and 60 lessons, Foil Academy is the most complete online course in watersports. The platform’s launch is complemented by the release of a new entry-level Winging collection with the goal of further expanding the Winging and watersports community.

Foil Academy is a free instructional course designed for user-friendly Winging and Wing Foiling progression in a safe and structured manner. The lessons break the learning process down to the basics and cover all the skills and knowledge needed to master winging and foiling. Slingshot’s industry-leading riders and designers cover everything from basic foil behavior, design and hydrodynamics to getting up, riding, surfing and advanced transitions. Additional lessons on wake foiling and kite foiling are also available, or will be soon.

“Launching Foil Academy is a natural step for us,” said Jeff Logosz, CEO, and Co-Founder of Slingshot Sports.  “We have always strived to take a meaningful role in our community by offering new tools for people to express themselves on the water, and part of that role is to provide all of the resources necessary to welcome new riders into the fold”

To further accommodate entry-level wingers and riders, Slingshot Sports has also launched a collection of entry-level Winging gear. The collection includes the all-new Blaster Wing, which features a less aggressive sail shape, transparent panels to provide riders with maximum visibility and a median surface area of 4.4 square meters for versatility in the broadest range of conditions. New to the collection as well is the Tracker  Board. At 7-feet tall, it’s shorter than a typical Stand Up Paddleboard, allowing it to  maintain the surfy stability of a longer board with greater agility to benefit the rider as they find their footing and progress. The Tracker Board is compatible with Slingshot Sports’ signature SUPWinder keel attachment that can also turn any existing rigid stand up paddleboard into a winging board.
