RECCO is well-known worldwide as a technology tool that can help locate people in the case of avalanche burials, but with the introduction of the brand’s helicopter-mounted detector in 2015, the RECCO system has grown into a tool to assist in four-season rescue operations. With this year-round functionality, the RECCO system is being used to help locate a range of outdoor users — hikers, backpackers, bikers, hunters, anglers, trail runners and more — in events where people become lost in the backcountry.
Verde will help RECCO expand awareness of the system’s four-season applicability, and how people can become more searchable simply by adopting a RECCO reflector as part of their everyday outdoors kit.

RECCO technology makes outdoor enthusiasts searchable to rescuers in case of burial in an avalanche or simply if someone becomes lost in the outdoors. The technology is based on a two-part radar system. Rescuers carry RECCO detectors that send out search signals which are echoed by small RECCO reflectors, carried by the user.
RECCO reflectors can be bought as stand-alone products, or come embedded into products such as apparel and backpacks. The brand works with brand partners such as SCARPA, Patagonia, Arc’teryx, Helly Hansen and POC who implement RECCO reflectors into their products in order to make users become more searchable.
