LOUISVILLE, Colo. (May 30, 2012) — Technical apparel and gear manufacturer Rab rounds out their North American team with the recent addition of Scott Bennett.

Bennett started climbing on the steep sandstone of Kentucky’s Red River Gorge but quickly headed west in search of bigger and bigger objectives. The past few years, Bennett has built a name for himself through ambitious fast and light link-ups in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, California and Patagonia, including the impressive FFA in Argentine Patagonia of the West Face of Aguja Guillamet via a new route Manos al Cielo (5.11, 450m).

Bennett joins Jean-Pierre Ouellet (aka: PeeWee), Aaron Mulkey, Pete Tapley, Melanie Bernier and Eli Helmuth to complete Rab’s small yet talented North American Athlete Team. “Scott is just beginning to actualize his full potential in the mountains and shows no signs of slowing down,” says Samantha Killgore, Marketing Manager at Rab USA. “His accomplishments are both visionary and inspirational.”

Recent additions to Rab’s Athlete Team highlight the brand’s growing presence in the North American market. “Building relationships with athletes that encompass the spirit of the Rab brand is the ideal way to connect with the committed alpinist who is our core consumer,” Killgore continues. “Scott embodies that sense of adventure. We are so pleased to have him on board.”

Here are a few of Bennett’s recent accomplishments:
-Major new link-up on the Fitz Roy massif, North Pillar Sit Start (5.11 A1, 2000m)
-FFA of West Face of Aguja Guillamet via the new route Manos al Cielo (5.11, 450m)
-FFA of Cosas Patagonicas (5.11+, 450m), Aguja Mermoz, Patagonia
