prAna Reaches Major Sustainability Goal with its Spring/Summer 2022 Collection

Carlsbad, CA – October 4, 2021 – prAna, creator of Clothing for Positive Change and a leader in sustainable, outdoor fashion, announced today that every style in the Spring/Summer 2022 collection has at least one preferred attribute. In establishing this goal, prAna identified 13 preferred attributes selected based on best available technology in social or environmental criteria. These preferred attributes include bluesign® fabric or product, Fair Trade CertifiedTM or Factory, recycled or organic content, Responsible Down (RDS) or Wool (RWS) Standard, EcoBlack PrimaLoft, Hemp, TENCELTM Lyocell or Modal, and PFASs-Free DWR.

“Taking both people and planet into consideration, we have been working tirelessly to create products that meet our preferred attributes,” said Rachel K. Lincoln, prAna’s director of sustainability and social responsibility. “This achievement creates a new baseline for our products and supports our aspirational sustainability goals in both preferred fibers and Fair Trade.”

This accomplishment represents a major milestone for prAna. Sustainability has been a core value of the brand since it was founded in 1992. Since then, prAna has set goals around its methods and materials that respect the planet and its people as part of its commitment to make Clothing for Positive Change. Significant sustainability benchmarks to date include:

2004: prAna introduced its first styles with organic cotton and hemp
2005: prAna first used recycled polyester
2011: prAna brought the first-ever Fair Trade CertifiedTM piece of clothing to market
2012: prAna certified the first Fair Trade apparel factory and became a bluesign® systems partner
2015: prAna removed all generic rayon and viscose fibers from its apparel
2016: prAna converted all down used to Responsible Down Standard (RDS)
2018: prAna converted all cotton used to 100-percent organic cotton and used recycled nylon for the first time
2021: prAna reaches 100-percent plastic-free packaging goal
2022: prAna reaches sustainability goal with every style in the Spring/Summer 2022 collection possessing at least one preferred attribute

Spring/Summer 2022 Collection Highlights

ReZion
prAna’s best-selling original Stretch Zion styles are now constructed with recycled nylon ReZion for Spring/Summer 2022. From there, ReZion was wear tested by customers to ensure that ReZion is not only lab-tested but also adventurer-approved. ReZion is available in 15 bottom silhouettes for men and for women, featuring bluesign® fabric, PFC-free DWR, and UPF 50+ sun protection rating. MSRP $69 -$95.

Swimwear
The Spring/Summer 2022 women’s swimwear collection features a new, sustainable, jersey fabrication that is softer and more forgiving in fit while remaining true to prAna’s commitment to stay-put design. The collection features a range of silhouettes from on-trend cheeky bottoms to the brand’s first-ever long sleeved one piece with the strikingly color blocked McKayla One Piece (MSRP $115). The entire sustainable swimwear collection in a Fair Trade CertifiedTM Factory, UPF 50+ rated, stay-put, and is chlorine and saltwater resistant.
