LOUISVILLE, Colo

(July 29, 2021) —PEARL iZUMi the worldwide leader in cycling apparel and footwear, introduces its Fall 2021 line, featuring a range of new styles designed to keep riders pedaling comfortably through all conditions. The lineup of cool weather gear includes several new high performance mountain bike outerwear layers, a unique gaiter for gravel rides, and BikeStyle items that easily transition off the bike.

“Our technical mountain bike apparel continues to be a huge push for the brand and this fall season we’ve really invested in designs and technology that allow you to perform your best through a wide range of conditions and temperatures, without having to constantly adjust your layering,” said Andrew Hammond, Director of Brand Marketing for PEARL iZUMi. “We’ve also made progress towards our target of making 90% of line with sustainable materials by 2022.”

New to the mountain bike line are two jackets that provide insurance against inclement weather and keep riders warm without overheating. The Men’s Summit Pro Barrier Jacket ($125) is a hooded, stretch woven layer that will shed moisture but is focused on breathability so it remains comfortable when riding hard. It packs down into its zippered rear pocket for easy storage with a hidden strap that can secure the jacket to a bike frame. The Men’s Canyon ECOLoft Jacket ($210) features ECOLoft Active insulation made from recycled materials, which quickly transfers excess heat to provide consistent warmth. A two-way zipper allows for even more temperature management and PEARL iZUMi’s proprietary PI Dry® technology provides permanent protection from trail spray, rain, and snow.

The new Summit Thermal Jersey ($120), available in Men’s and Women’s styles, is a versatile, shoulder season outer layer that can transition into a mid-layer in colder, winter months. The jersey features a 60-gram, high-stretch fleece that allows for quick moisture transfer while retaining heat. The hood is slim enough to fit under a helmet for when ride temperatures drop and the wind picks up.

Based on feedback from its team of over 50 pro and amateur ambassadors, PEARL iZUMi is introducing the industry’s first-ever, cycling-specific Gravel Gaiter ($30). Gravel riders and racers often face some of the harshest ride conditions and the new Gravel Gaiter will help keep mud, sand and rocks out of shoes. Made from durable, breathable fabrics, the gaiters feature a locking zipper to keep them in place and a Hypalon midfoot strap that stays out of the way during technical hike-a-bike sections. In addition, the new Expedition Thermal Jersey embraces a technical sweater aesthetic that’s sure to appeal to the gravel set.

Debuting in the road category is the new Attack AmFIB® Lite Jacket ($150) for both Men and Women. This technical piece is constructed from PEARL iZUMi’s three-layer windproof, water-resistant AmFIB softshell fabric on the chest as well as the forward-facing areas of the sleeves to protect from headwinds. The back of the jacket body and sleeves are lined with thermal fleece, allowing for greater breathability and three bellowed rear pockets are large enough for winter gloves, a neck gaiter and other cold-weather gear.

Adding to PEARL iZUMi’s casual BikeStyle collection are several new pieces that are designed to transition from on and off the bike without compromising comfort or style. The Rove Cycling Jean for both Men and Women ($100) blends organic cotton with nylon and high-stretch Elastane for easy pedaling comfort. The lower cuff rolls up to expose BioViz® reflective elements made from recycled materials for increased visibility, and the jeans are finished with brand’s PI Dry® water-repellent technology, to protect against rain or the occasional ketchup spill. The Women’s Rove Cargo Legging ($110) has dual hand pockets, one drop-in hip pocket and a second zippered hip pocket to keep essentials safely stowed. With a wide waistband, four-way stretch fabric, added abrasion resistant panels and PI Dry® technology, these leggings are ready for anything.

The Men’s Prospect Tech Sweatshirt ($110) doubles as an everyday casual sweatshirt and technical piece that can go from cruising around town to laps on the trails. Featuring a sweat-wicking grid fabric made from 97% recycled materials, abrasion-resistant forearm panels with PI Dry® technology and a zippered chest pocket to protect valuables. The Women’s Prospect Tech Hoodie ($120) comes in with a cowl neck and three-piece hood design with two zippered hand pockets. The Women’s Prospect Tech Dress ($130) is a stylish sweatshirt dress.
