Outdoor Industry Association Offering $50 Discount on Rendezvous Registration during Outdoor Retailer
October Conference Brings Together Industry Leaders to Explore Critical Issues, Build Key Relationships

Outdoor Industry Association® (OIA) has announced that it will offer a $50 discount on Rendezvous registration during Outdoor Retailer. To receive this special pricing, industry members must register at the OIA booth (#56000) during the tradeshow, Aug. 2-5, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

The premier education conference for outdoor industry executives, OIA Rendezvous takes place Oct. 3-5 in Boston. This year’s theme is Business Evolution, exploring the rapid pace of change in today’s business world and how companies can better position themselves to adapt and succeed.

“As new and advancing technologies spread across the business horizon, the landscape is changing right before our eyes, and companies need to know what technology and market trends to pay attention to,” said LaRae Marsik, vice president of business intelligence for OIA and producer of the Rendezvous conference. “At Rendezvous one of the focus areas will be social, mobile, retail, consumer and supply chain technologies, all of which are impacting outdoor businesses and how they operate today.”

Rendezvous features four dedicated knowledge tracks — for retailers, marketers, executive leaders and manufacturers. In addition, OIA has lined up a host of insightful keynote speakers, including Max McKeown, a business leader and author focused on adaptability and change management; Gabe Zichermann, a recognized leader in game theory and gamification; NPR’s political junkie, Ken Rudin; and Clark Scheffy, associate partner and designer at IDEO.

The event also features an evening Retail Trail, back by popular demand. This interactive scavenger hunt will take attendees to several Boston-area outdoor stores to engage in experiential retail and get a sense of the ultimate customer experience.

In addition, attendees will get their hands dirty during an afternoon of service projects, sponsored by Timberland. This is a valuable component of the conference, offering attendees an opportunity to give back to the host community while bonding with fellow executives.
