LONGMONT, Colo.

German mountain brand introduces renewable materials like hemp, organic cotton and Tencel™ to its collection headlined by the Valbon Pant, 170 Cool Tec T-Shirt and Trad Zero backpack

ORTOVOX, the global expert in avalanche rescue equipment and technical wool for mountain sports, expands its mountainwear and backpack collections by offering a 100% climate neutral assortment comprised of sustainable resources, like hemp, organic cotton, Tencel™ and recycled polyamide. Available in April 2022, the all-new collection is highlighted by the Valbon Pant, the 170 Cool Tec T-Shirt and the Trad Zero backpack.

“ORTOVOX is committed to becoming fully climate neutral by 2024 as part of our ProtACT2024 sustainability strategy. With that strong commitment, this season we are launching a new collection of mountainwear and backpacks that are not only climate neutral, but also comprised of sustainable materials, like hemp, organic cotton and Tencel™. Using these materials allows ORTOVOX to be part of the solution and it encourages more people to think about how they can participate in the outdoors in an environmentally friendly way,” says Tom Mason, U.S. brand manager at ORTOVOX.

The Valbon Pant ($150) is designed for climbing, mountaineering and athletic tours in the backcountry, offering a minimalistic design with full freedom of movement. The durable pant is sustainably made with a natural mix of organic cotton and hemp. The two-way stretch material and ergonomic fit ensures freedom of movement, and the merino wool waistband sits comfortably under any climbing harness, making it perfect for any climbing adventure. On top of it all, the Valbon Pant comes in an asymmetrical design with neon color accents, helping you stand out in any crowd.

The 170 Cool Tec T-Shirt ($90) is also new for Spring 2022 and is comprised of three natural fibers, making it a functional and durable fabric perfect for mountain pursuits. The T-Shirt is made using Tasmanian merino wool, which is certified in accordance with the ORTOVOX Wool Promise (OWP), a cellulose fiber called Tencel™ lyocell, which provides a cooling effect thanks to its flat surface, and hemp, which is durable and environmentally friendly, using 80 percent less water than cotton. The 170 Cool Tec is a casual-fit T-shirt for optimal freedom of movement and its asymmetrical lines make a lasting impression no matter where you go.

The Trad Zero ($80-120) is the latest addition to the ORTOVOX climbing pack lineup and is perfectly designed for high-alpine climbing tours. The new climate neutral collection is comprised of the Trad Zero 18 ($80) and Trad Zero 24 ($120), which both fit snugly to the back when heading up the wall in any terrain. The packs are scuff-resistant and long-lasting thanks to a 420-denier Ripstop, which is made of 88% recycled polyamide. Important details like daisy chains, rope fastening options and a hydration fixation system make this pack stand out. At just over 1 pound, the Trad Zero 24 is a lightweight, minimalist pack that provides a soft contact back and cushioned shoulder straps for optimal comfort on the climbing wall. It is a reliable companion of demanding tours where every ounce matters.

The ORTOVOX Spring 2022 Collection will be available in April 2022 at www.ortovox.com and select retail partners. For more information, please contact Account Manager Maria Brickman at maria.brickman@rygr.us.
