In light of the need for the nation to advance an economic vision for our public lands, mitigate climate change, and find a balanced approach to resource management, Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) is pleased with the Administration’s nomination of Michael Connor to serve as the next Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
In Mr. Connor’s work as the Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, he has been called upon to manage some of the most important and controversial water and public lands issues of our time. His work with diverse stakeholders, government agencies and tribes to address resource management issues make him uniquely qualified to step into the number two position at Interior.
Throughout his distinguished public service career, Mr. Connor has proved his commitment to the people and places most impacted by resource management decisions. OIA encourages the Senate to quickly confirm Mr. Conner as Deputy Secretary.
