The new Trailroc™ shoe series by international sports performance brand inov-8 debuts with wins from team inov-8 athletes at some of the nation’s toughest trail races, the Pikes Peak Marathon and the GORE-TEX Transrockies.

The Trailroc™ series is thelatest trail specific shoe from inov-8, the international sports performance brand specializing in minimal footwear for road running, trail running and fitness. Made with US Terrain in mind, the Trailroc™ is perfect for some of the toughest races in the country.

Team inov-8 athletes are committed to pushing their bodies to the limits, whether it is on the trail, road or in the box. The Trailroc™ brought multiple team inov-8 athletes to the podium this August, with its aggressive grip and protection against even the toughest terrain.

Inov-8 athletes David James and Amy Rusiecki excelled earlier this August at the 2012 GORE-TEX® TransRockies Run. The pair ran in tandem for 120 miles, over six days and 20,000 feet of gain to come in 3rd place for the team division, each in a pair of shoes from the new Trailroc™ series. With a spot on the podium for each stage of the race, Amy and Dave were committed to making it to the podium for the overall event. At stage six, they took a wrong turn and added at least three extra miles to their race. Yet their strong pace throughout the entire event kept them at second overall for the open team or “mixed” category with a finishing time of 19:48:19.2.

Amy and Dave raced the Transrockies in 2011 separately in the all-Women’s and all-Men’s Divisions. In the past month, Dave won first place in a 100k race and defended his USATF 100 Mile Championship title. Amy recently placed second in the Vermont 100 miler and ran the 50k Laurel Highlands Ultra in Pennsylvania with the third fastest female time ever for the race.

In addition to the Transrockies, the Trailroc™ made an impressive appearance at the Pikes Peak Marathon in Colorado. Team inov-8’s Alex Nichols, Peter Maksimow and Kevin Tilton flew through “America’s Ultimate Challenge” with Trailroc’s Tri-C compound sole gripping in all the right areas. Alex gave one of the best mountain runners in the world, Killian Jornet, a run for the money and beat the 2011 World Mountain Running Champion, Max King, placing 2nd. In the Ascent, Kevin Tilton came out from the low land of New Hampshire and placed 8th while Peter Maksimow was one step ahead in 7th.

The Trailroc™ features innovative construction, with an anatomic fit, superior lacing system and a sole that has been optimized for loose, rugged and eroded terrain of the trails. Divided into three areas, the Tri-C™ compound sole uses different compounds and cleat sizes depending on how each section is used when running. Amy said she loved the feel of the Trailroc™ 255 and their weightlessness. She went on to say, “they were so aggressive that I was flying past folks on the downhill and didn’t have to be tentative with my stride because they gripped the trail and gave me confidence in my foot placement.”

All inov-8 shoes offer a range of cushioning and differential (the difference in height between the heel and forefoot) named Shoc-Zone™ so that runners can choose the shoe most appropriate for them and transition down the Shoc-Zone™ to a more natural style of running. With three different options of varying cushioning, protection and differential, there is a new Trailroc™ shoe for every trail runner’s need. The Trailroc™  235 features a 0mm differential, the Trailroc™  245 features a 3mm differential, and the Trailroc™  255 features a 6mm differential.
