Metolius, a pioneer rock climbing gear manufacturer based in Bend, Oregon, today announced a 10-percent increase in sales from fiscal year 2005 to 2006.

Doug Phillips, founder and president of Metolius, attributes the growth to a sales increase in all categories of existing product.

“The increase covers our product in traditional rock climbing, bouldering and big wall products,” Phillips said. “Training, always a strong category for Metolius, also increased.”

Metolius fiscal year ends Oct. 31. Phillips also noted that the company has seen exponential gains in its international business over the past year as well.

“The OutDoor show in Germany this summer was an outstanding show for us,” he said. “Our numbers give us confidence in the domestic and international climbing markets and in our existing products and product categories.”
