BRENTWOOD, Tenn.

MacNeill Pride Group® (MPG), a diversified global designer and manufacturer of outdoor products and sporting goods, today announced the appointment of Keith Bornholtz as Chief Executive Officer. MPG is a portfolio company of Centre Partners.

Bornholtz, who has over 30 years of experience in branded consumer products, joins MPG from Central Garden & Pet, where he was President of the pet distribution business unit and led a five year strategic transformation of their national multi-channel platform. Bornholtz previously held senior leadership positions at Yes To Inc., Big Heart Pet Brands, Clorox and Procter & Gamble. He will be based at MPG’s headquarters in Nashville, TN.

Bornholtz said, “I’m excited to lead MPG and join its strong leadership team. After getting to know MPG’s business over the past several months, the immense potential for the company to capitalize on momentum in the outdoor industry is clear. With the recent acquisitions of GCI Outdoor and ORCA Coolers, MPG is quickly becoming a platform in the outdoor recreation space, adding to its already leading position in sporting goods. I look forward to expanding MPG’s position as a leading innovator in the dynamic outdoor recreation and sporting goods markets.”

Additionally, MPG appointed four directors to its Board:

  • David Tanner served as CEO of Boardriders until 2021, where he led a six year transformation to build a leading designer and distributor of outdoor branded apparel, footwear and accessories sold in 110 countries under eight global brands including Quiksilver, Billabong, ROXY, DC Shoes and RVCA. Previously, Tanner was Head of Portfolio Operations at Oaktree Capital Management and served in senior leadership roles at Fortune Brands, McKinsey, and the US Air Force.
  • Jessica Klodnicki is the Chief Marketing Officer for Skullcandy Inc., a designer, marketer and distributor of lifestyle audio products. Prior to joining Skullcandy in 2017, Klodnicki served as General Manager of Vista Outdoor Inc.’s outdoor recreation division, General Manager for Easton-Bell Sports cycling & accessories division and previously held roles at Mizuno USA and Newell Brands.
  • Kevan Talbot served as Chief Financial Officer at Sportsman’s Warehouse Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: SPWH), an outdoor sporting goods retailer, from 2009 until 2019, as well as other senior management roles at the company over a 17-year period. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Utah.
  • Joe Steranka is Executive Strategist for Buffalo.Agency, a digital marketing and PR agency specializing in creating, celebrating and sharing stories that amplify golf and the golf lifestyle. Steranka was CEO of the PGA of America from 2005 to 2012.

“We are pleased to welcome Keith and the new Board members to MacNeill Pride Group,” said Daniel Brinkenhoff, Managing Director at Centre Partners. “Keith’s broad CPG experience and demonstrated ability to deliver growth, along with the talents of our new Board members, will benefit MPG as it continues to expand into new, complementary markets.”
