Lumos Solar, the global leader in architectural solar, announced today the company’s new SolarZone structures will be featured at the Big Game on February 7th in Tampa, Florida. This marks the fourth time the leading solar design company has appeared at one of the most popular sporting events in the world.

Lumos Solar’s installation comes to life in partnership with the local utility company in Tampa, Florida. As part of the utility’s sponsorship of the Big Game, they will be installing 24 Lumos SolarZones. The SolarZone is the best-in-class outdoor furniture solution to maintaining safe social distance while providing a comfortable, shaded seating area with solar charging capabilities for laptops and mobile devices. Attendees and members of the press can visit the installations at Curtis Hixon Park or at the NFL Experience in Julian B. Lane Park in downtown Tampa, Florida.

“Our mission is to facilitate the widespread adoption of solar energy. We’re honored to have our products featured at world class events like the “Big Game” which provide enormous exposure and opportunity for people to interact with solar energy in a very tangible and accessible way” said Scott Franklin, President and CEO of Lumos Solar. “We’re dedicated to making solar energy ubiquitous and relevant to people’s everyday lives.”

At the championship in years past, Lumos Solar worked with local companies to create unique installations for gamegoers enjoyment. In 2017, Lumos Solar worked with DLR Group to welcome attendees through a custom solar canopy at NRG Stadium. Similarly, in 2019, Lumos Solar worked with HOK Architect, Hannah Solar and Georgia Power, to create a custom solar canopy for the Mercedes Benz Stadium. Finally, in 2020, Lumos Solar worked with Florida Power & Light to develop a curved solar walkway  in Miami Bayfront Park.

Living up to its name as the “Sunshine State,” Lumos Solar has done more than 50 unique projects in Florida at notable locations including Miami Bayfront Park, Naples Zoo, Kennedy Space Center, Palm Beach International Airport, Zoo Miami, Manatee Viewing Center, and many more.
