Beyond building a diverse team of Grounds Keepers since 2017 and making sure BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ are represented within the brand, Granite Gear seeks to provide size-inclusive gear so that people of all shapes and sizes feel comfortable in outdoor spaces.

The Perimeter Series is Granite Gear’s most inclusive pack to date. Designed for the ultralight thru-hiker to the first-time outdoors person, the goal was to make everyone feel welcome and wanted in the outdoors. To be awarded with Best Backpack of 2021 for the Perimeter 50 by Outside Magazine, really showcases the outdoor industry’s push and desire to become more inclusive.

The new multi-day Perimeter Series is a step towards celebrating diversity, specifically body diversity, in the outdoors. The Perimeter 50 introduces an additional element in fine-tuning the suspension system to one’s body: Shoulder Width Adjustment with regular and wide settings along vertical daisy-chained webbing. When adjusting the torso height, simply choose which shoulder width and resecure the clip to the corresponding webbing anchor points on each side. The series also utilizes the Re-Fit waist belt to wrap around your hips just right. Also new for the series is the larger waist belt comfortably fits waists from 36- 52+ inches.
The Perimeter 50 weighs only 3.1 pounds, each with a 40-pound load rating. Both packs feature 100D Robic nylon and 210D Robic custom nylon, bear canister capability to help wrap canisters securely, zippered compartment on the top lid flap for quick access, and another zippered compartment on the bottom for soft item storage. Available in Pine/Bourbon and Marina/Black colorways. The Perimeter 35 is available in Unisex and Women’s-Specific fit in size regular (MSRP: $199.95). The Perimeter 50 is available in Unisex fit in size Regular and Long, as well as Women’s-Specific fit in size Short and Regular (MSRP: $219.95)
