Dakine, the trusted name in purpose-built gear for outdoor adventures, releases the Sender Stretch 3L Series jacket and pant, a ready-to-recycle technical and durable outerwear kit for winter adventures. The Sender, available for men and women, is a testament to Dakine’s ongoing sustainability initiatives that aim to reduce the brands’ environmental impact while pushing the technical performance of its products. “The Sender Series is part of Dakine’s first step towards integrating circular life cycle principals into broader product areas,” shares Gabe Schroder, snow marketing manager at Dakine. “As a brand, Dakine shares the responsibility of protecting our planet and the places we play in. To do this, we partner with likeminded organizations, like 1% for the Planet, and address issues with creative solutions, which led to the creation of the Sender Series. We’re excited to offer a technical apparel series that keeps sustainability principles at its core.”
The Sender Stretch 3L jacket (MSRP $495) and pant (MSRP $450) use Dakine’s new performance RE-PSYCHD® material, which is constructed of 4-way stretch recycled polyester, plain weave 3L ultra-light backer, 20k/20k laminate and a PFC-free durable water repellent finish. This recycled fabric is soft to the touch and uses fully taped seams for added protection from the elements. The apparel is equipped with Recco technology, a tri-pull adjustable fixed hood and Aquaguard pockets and zippers for trusted moisture protection on deep days. The kit offers a relaxed yet articulated fit for skiers and riders that value mobility and comfort.
The kit is thoughtfully built with durability and longevity in mind, withstanding multiple 100-day seasons. Once the jacket and pants reach the end of their life cycle, they can be broken down and reused for a variety of purposes.
In addition to creating the RE-PSYCHD© material, Dakine is expanding the use of GRS-certified recycled materials in its snow gear bags for this winter. The brand is also introducing the first PFC-free and GORE-TEX certified mittens with the men’s and women’s Baron GORE-TEX Series.
