Ignik, a Bainbridge Island-based brand committed to improving the sustainability of outdoor heating products, proudly announces a new product that lets outdoor enthusiasts safely bring a fire wherever they go. The FireCan™ portable propane-powered firepit offers an innovative solution to the rampant issue of wildfires by replacing wood fires with a safer, more contained campfire experience.

Wildfires destroy an average of 6-million acres of land in the U.S. alone each year, causing billions of dollars in damage and accounting for about 20% of global carbon emissions. As wildfires increase both in frequency and intensity year after year, burn bans have become commonplace, limiting where and when people can enjoy a campfire. Ignik created the FireCan to offer an easy-to-pack, easy-to-use propane-powered alternative to traditional campfires that makes following burn bans easier and more eco-friendly than ever.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in the popularity of firepits in recent years as people look to create that quintessential campfire experience in a more convenient and controlled way,” says Peter Pontano, Ignik’s Marketing and Product Development Director. “We created the FireCan to meet that demand with a truly plug and play system that puts all the pieces in one place. It’s safe, it’s convenient, and it puts out a fraction of the emissions of a traditional wood fire, so it aligns with our mission of combatting climate change through thoughtful product design.”

The FireCan is compact and versatile, with an ammo can design that’s easier to stow and transport than traditional round firepits. The container is made of heavy-duty steel with a high temperature powder coating finish for durability. Mesh sides allow for a more visible flame and increased heat output, while foldable legs pop out for a safe, raised fire surface. When it’s time to pack up, tuck the legs underneath for a compact storage solution. The FireCan includes a hose and adapter to connect your propane source, and they stow inside for easy transport. It pairs perfectly with Ignik’s Gas Growler or any standard 5lb or 20lb propane tank. The FireCan is designed to CSA and UL safety standards and is allowable for use during burn bans when contained propane flame is allowed.

The FireCan will launch F21 with a retail price of $199.99. To learn more, visit Ignik.com or contact Suzanne Hermann at suzanne@darbycommunications.com.
