Thrive Outside Community Initiative

The Outdoor Foundation and our brand partners are excited to announce the Thrive Outside Community Initiative. We’re on a mission to connect not only individuals, but also entire communities to the outdoors and inspire a nationwide outdoor habit. We’ll start with a strategic, locally based approach by investing in pilot “Thrive Outside Communities.” Our investments will support community-based organizations as well as national partners working in those regions. Grants will be given to increase the collaborative ability of a network of diverse groups to get more kids outside more often and engage their families to increase the likelihood of a long-term love of the outdoors. The Outdoor Foundation and our partners are fueling a movement to ensure that people from all walks of life thrive outside.

The Outdoor Foundation’s research investigates the depth and effect of Americans participation in outdoor recreation. Each year, the Outdoor Foundation produces reports to help understand the demographic and lifestyle changes taking place in the U.S. and around the world as they relate to outdoor recreation.
