Capitol Summit

Each year, we bike, hike, and paddle our to way to Capitol Hill to use our outside voices and advocate for the outdoor economy, outdoor participation, and our planet.

We’re gathering our industry’s top leaders, collaborators, and congressional supporters this April for OIA’s Capitol Summit, but you don’t have to be in Washington, D.C. to join this passionate group of business leaders, climate experts, policymakers, and outdoor enthusiasts. You can advocate from anywhere! Your outside voice is essential as we build a community to increase lawmaker attention and investment on the intersectional issues of equitable access, recreation, climate, trade, and conservation.

Together we are a force for collective action

On behalf of, and in partnership with our members, OIA builds and mobilizes advocacy networks on intersectional issues of equitable access, trade, climate, and conservation policies for incentives and funding at the federal and state level to create jobs, invest in recreation infrastructure, save money, expand outdoor access for all, and protect our environment.

Applying OIA research and consumer insights, we’re informed, connected, and pragmatic about what matters most to the organizations we represent. We engage policy makers to tell our stories, ask for resources, represent our values, for the long-term health of both the outdoors, outdoor participants, and company bottom lines. We have direct access to industry experts, researchers, and decision makers—and we know what it takes to drive change at scale.
