Webinar: The US-China Trade War: How Your Company Can Secure Relief From Punitive Tariffs Imposed On Products Sourced From China
Speakers: Rich Harper, Manager of International Trade, Outdoor Industry Association and Dan Neumann, Director of Government Affairs, Sorini Samet & Associates
In an effort to compel China to conclude a deal on its intellectual property (IP) practices, President Trump has imposed a punitive tariff of 25 percent on $250 billion worth of products sourced from China, including a number of outdoor products on the so-called List 3.
While negotiations continue on a final agreement, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has launched a formal process for companies to file petitions through September 30, 2019, to exclude products on List 3 from additional tariffs and receive a refund on punitive tariffs paid to date. Products on this list – including backpacks, sports bags, bikes, camp chairs, leather ski gloves, camp stoves and headwear – were hit with a 10 percent punitive tariff last September that rose to 25 percent on May 10. Join us for an important discussion on how your company can utilize this new process and help your bottom line.
In this webinar you will learn the following:
- What outdoor products are on List 3
- What information you need to file a petition
- Do’s and Don’ts on filing a petition
- The process for filing a petition and review by the administration
