Paddle Power: 2017 Outdoor Foundation’s Paddle Nation Grant Is Now Open

Help support pioneering youth-developed projects that increase paddling participation. Or apply to receive a grant. Either way, kids and paddling win.

Recreational paddling is one of the most accessible and impactful ways to introduce young Americans to the outdoors. Since 2012, more than 10,000 people—nearly half of them kids—have had the opportunity to get outside to explore America’s waterways. Thanks to the Paddle Nation Grant Program, an initiative connecting young people to their rivers, streams, lakes and oceans, more kids will experience the joy of paddling.

In 2016, the program funded:

7 projects in…

7 states that engaged…

2,133 people, including…

1,511 youth. In total, they spent…

13,888 hours outside participating in paddle recreation.

The program is funded by Outdoor Retailer, National Park Service and many paddle-sport manufacturers, retailers and stakeholders.
